Teaching Environmental Awareness: Mini Nuclear Energy Seminar for Teachers (Mini-NEST)

Location |
Susquehanna Riverlands
Presented by |
PPL Staff

Friday, Nov. 6 - 8:30a.m. to 3:30p.m. at the Susquehanna Energy Information Center. (Preregistration is required)

Because of the overwhelming response to our annual weeklong NEST course, PPL will offer Mini-NEST this fall. We’ve condensed as much information as possible into this daylong course that will include sessions on energy basics, the fundamentals of nuclear power, physical security at the plant and the future of nuclear power in America. A perimeter tour of the plant and the site of a possible new unit at Susquehanna will end the day. PPL will provide a catered lunch for participants.

Presented by experts in their field, this lively discussion promises to be time well-spent. Space is limited, and preregistration is required. Visit www.pplpreserves.com to register or call 866-832-3312 for more information.

This program is eligible for Act 48 credits.

The Susquehanna Riverlands encompasses 1,200 acres of land on the east and west banks of the Susquehanna River in Luzerne County north of Berwick. The Riverlands provides an array of opportunities for recreation and environmental awareness. Information: 1-800-354-8383 (toll free) or pplpreserves@pplweb.com.
