Fly Ash

Fine particles of ash — comparable in size to talcum powder — formed from unburnable minerals in coal that are removed from exhaust gas exiting the furnace at power plants. Fly ash is removed from the exhaust gas using collectors such as fabric filters and electrostatic precipitators.
