Anthracite –
A hard, black lustrous coal, often referred to as hard coal. It contains a high fixed carbon and ash content and is low in volatile matter. It is the highest rank of economically usable coal. The moisture content generally is less than 15 percent. It is a non-coking coal. Anthracite contains approximately 22 million to 28 million Btu per ton.
